Father's Day 2013

Today is Father's Day and, since were were away on holidays (aka buying a van) in the weeks leading up to Father's Day, I wasn't able to do anything too creative. However, I did manage to buy Darran a gift (a personalized beer mug on which Annalise said it had to say "Cheers Daddy" which was really cute) and a couple cute cards. :) Today I thought I'd better try to do something a little creative so I found something on Pinterest called "My Daddy" which has sentence starters and has to be filled in by the kids. I helped Annalise with this of course and she came up with some great answers. This is the My Daddy sheet we did:

Annalise's answers were (her answers in red):
My dad's name is Darran.
He is 3 years old.
He is as big as daddy.
He has grey hair and blue eyes.
His favorite food is oatmeal and cornflakes. (Annalise calls it "eatmeal".)
His favorite colour is red.
He likes to go to work.
For fun he likes to play tent.
My favorite thing to do with my dad is turn on my bedroom light.
I love my dad because he loves me. :)

Sweet and somewhat humorous answers. :)

For lunch I made pancakes and bacon. Not just any bacon though - Sweet and Spicy Bacon! :) The recipe is one I found on Pinterest. Although the recipe seemed to indicate we should just sprinkle the seasoning on one side of the bacon, I put it on both and it was delicious! :) Darran seemed to enjoy it as well. Next, I'm off to clean up the kitchen and Darran said he'd make burgers for supper so that's all good. It should end up being a nice, relaxing day for all of us ... which is sort of the point right? :)
